JCT stands for Japanese Consumption Tax. A consumption tax is imposed broadly and fairly on consumption as a whole. Basically, selling goods and providing services in Japan are all subject to consumption tax. Although when business entities sell, they will be imposed tax as a taxable person, the tax on purchases from that on sales may become deductible and pay the remainder to prevent the tax from accumulating.
