Q. Please tell us about your company's business, especially your business overseas.
I run my own business. I started my business as a side business, producing websites. I have always been good at computer-related skills, so I used my hobby to start my own business. Currently, I have two main businesses: one is my original website production and maintenance business, and the other is my cross border shopping business that I started in 2018 and is currently doing well. In the cross border shopping business, I sell miscellaneous goods such as my own can badges. I am able to complete most of the process from product planning to sales in-house, resulting in significant cost reductions. I have been selling my products on Amazon in Japan and the U.S., and my products have been purchased by a wide range of customers regardless of gender or age. Last year, due to strong sales in the U.S., I set my sights on the EU as my next overseas market.
Q. How did you choose OPTI?
As I mentioned earlier, one of my strengths is my ability to reduce costs through in-house completion. However, there are many difficult aspects of overseas taxation, and I thought it would be necessary to consult an expert.
I found OPTI's name among the companies related to cross border shopping business that were introduced on Payoneer's website. Compared to other companies, the website of OPTI is very comprehensive, with a lot of useful content such as Q&A and client review, which I found reliable and reassuring. In particular, the information on "Thresholds in EU countries" and "Actions to be taken when thresholds are reached", which I had been wondering about for a long time, was very helpful.
Q. Please tell us your aspirations for your future business and anything you would like to say to us.
In the future, once my sales in the EU become stable, I would like to expand into the UK. I also plan to put more effort into product development and increase the number of popular products.
By the way, OPTI has assigned me a person in charge, and I communicate with each other via e-mail during each filing. It is very helpful for me to be able to consult with them when I have any questions, but I think it would be more helpful if you could prepare a special form for sending sales data.
